Frequently Asked Questions

THE WATCHES

Are your watches authentic?

Yes. A piece is examined before it enters the collection, and anything we cannot verify we say we cannot verify. Where a reference number has not been confirmed on the watch itself, the listing reads "To be confirmed" rather than carrying a guess.

Are the watches serviced?

Some are, some are not, and each listing says which. Where a watch has been serviced by our watchmaker we say so and supply documentation. Where it is simply running well on inspection with no known service history, we say that instead.

How is condition assessed?

Case, dial, hands and movement are assessed separately rather than collapsed into one word. We describe what is there, including faults visible only under a loupe, and we state what is not known. A condition report that mentions no faults has usually not been written carefully.

Are replacement parts disclosed?

Yes. Where a strap, crystal, crown or other component is a replacement rather than original, the listing says so.

Are original boxes and papers included?

Only where stated. Most vintage watches arrive without them. Each listing has a "What's included" line, and it lists only what is actually included.

Are the photographs of the actual watch?

Yes. Every photograph is of the specific watch you would receive, not a stock image of the reference.

Are watches tested before sale?

Yes. Mechanical watches are run and timed before dispatch, and chronograph functions are checked. Water resistance is not tested unless a listing explicitly says it has been.

PURCHASING

How do I purchase a watch?

Add the watch to your cart and check out. If you would like to ask a question first, or prefer to pay by bank transfer, send us an enquiry and we will reply personally. The price is shown on every listing.

Can I reserve a watch?

Enquiring about a watch does not reserve it. Pieces are sold on a first successfully paid basis. If you need a piece held, ask us and we will confirm in writing what has been agreed.

What happens after payment?

We confirm receipt, carry out a final check on the watch, and confirm the dispatch date with you by email before it travels.

Can I pay internationally?

Yes. Available methods depend on your country and are set out in the Payment Policy.

Do you accept bank transfers?

Yes, on request. Contact us for details. See the Payment Policy for how transfers are handled.

SHIPPING

Where do you ship?

We ship from the United Kingdom and accept international enquiries. Destinations are confirmed per order before payment.

Is shipping tracked?

Yes. The tracking reference is emailed to you at dispatch.

Is shipping insured?

Cover is arranged and confirmed in writing per shipment. We do not describe a shipment as insured unless that cover has actually been arranged for your order.

Will a signature be required?

Wherever the destination service supports it, yes.

What about customs and import duties?

International shipments may attract duties and import VAT set by the destination country. Unless agreed otherwise in writing, these are the recipient's responsibility. See Shipping & Delivery.

AFTER PURCHASE

What does the warranty cover?

One month on the movement from the date of purchase. Age-related characteristics of a vintage watch are not defects and are not covered. The Warranty page sets out the distinction in full.

Can I return a watch?

Return arrangements are confirmed in writing at the time of sale, and statutory rights apply in addition where you buy as a consumer. See Refunds & Returns.

Can you assist with servicing?

Yes. We work with a watchmaker and can arrange servicing after purchase. We quote before any work is carried out.

What happens if an issue develops?

Write to us describing the fault and when it appeared. We will tell you honestly whether it falls within the warranty before anything is sent, so no watch travels unnecessarily.
